Introduction

The Programme has as its main objective the production of manpower with skills in Adult Education and Community Development and also to:

1. Produce dedicated and skilled facilitators of adult learners.

2. Prepare facilitators with in-depth knowledge of emerging contemporary issue related to adult and Non-formal education.

3. Train facilitators with the right attitude to Adult and Non-formal Education.

4. Produce facilitators that are able to guide and support learners to acquire relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary for living.

5. Produce facilitators who should be able to mobilize communities for education and development.

The course will involve taught courses and hands-on practical training.

Admission Requirement

To be considered for admission into the course, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

(a) A minimum of five O Level credits.

(b) The Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent, with credit in any five subjects including English in not more than two sittings.

(c) Or Teachers Grade II Certificate with pass at credit level in five subjects apart from “Teaching Practice” including English in not more than two sittings.

a. To expose student teachers to the main linguistics literary and cultural components of Hausa.

b. To equip student’s teachers with up-to-date methodologies in teaching Hausa languages, literature and culture in the junior and secondary classes.

c. To train the students teachers in teaching Hausa as a first language.

d. To train the students teachers in teaching Hausa as a second Language.

e. To provide the required man-power of professionally trained Hausa teachers of N.C.E. equivalence.

f. To enhance the student teacher’s opportunity to further their education in Hausa studies.

i. To equip the students with the basic knowledge of Physical and Health Education and Sports so as to qualify them for direct entry into degree programme in Physical and Health Education in Nigerian Universities and abroad.

ii. To provide access to higher education and teaching qualifications for those who wish to teach in the states.

iii. To equip the students with the technical knowledge and know how to become effective games masters, Physical and Health education teachers, Health science teachers and Sports organizers.

iv. To enable the Physical and Health Education unit identify and recruit top rate athletes for further training for inter and intra University sports competitions as well as those who will represent Nigeria in National and International sports competitions.

Introduction

The Programme has as its main objective the production of manpower with skills in Mathematics Education. To also

(a)To train and produce Mathematics teachers with sufficient knowledge and professional competence to teach primary schools and Junior Secondary School (JSS) Mathematics.

(b) To make the teachers of Mathematics to be creative and resourceful in their teaching by applying new teaching pedagogical techniques in the classroom.

(c) To enable teachers meet up to the challenges in Modem Mathematics Education development.

(d) To provide qualified students for the degree program in Mathematics Education at two hundred level (200 levels).

Introduction

The Programme has as its main objective the production of manpower with skills in Islamic Language Education.To also produce teachers with adequate knowledge in Arabic and Islamic Studies with professional competence to teach Islamic Studies at Primary and Basic Education Levels (JSS 1-3).

1. To produce Diploma graduates with adequate knowledge in Islamic Studies with Professional competence for employment in any Educational, Institution/Organization at local state and federal levels.

2. To produce Diploma graduates in Da’wah activities so as to promote peaceful co-existence between Muslim and non-Muslims.

3. To produce Diploma graduate who are capable of handling matters to Islamic Legal System according to the teachings of the prophet (SAW), not according to deviates opinions e.g. Boko Haram.
