The Programme has as its main objective the production of manpower with skills in Adult Education and Community Development and also to:
1. Produce dedicated and skilled facilitators of adult learners.
2. Prepare facilitators with in-depth knowledge of emerging contemporary issue related to adult and Non-formal education.
3. Train facilitators with the right attitude to Adult and Non-formal Education.
4. Produce facilitators that are able to guide and support learners to acquire relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary for living.
5. Produce facilitators who should be able to mobilize communities for education and development.
The course will involve taught courses and hands-on practical training.
2 Years.
To be considered for admission into the course, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:
(a) A minimum of five O Level credits.
(b) The Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent, with credit in any five subjects including English in not more than two sittings.
(c) Or Teachers Grade II Certificate with pass at credit level in five subjects apart from “Teaching Practice” including English in not more than two sittings.

i. To equip the students with the basic knowledge of Physical and Health Education and Sports so as to qualify them for direct entry into degree programme in Physical and Health Education in Nigerian Universities and abroad.

iii. To equip the students with the technical knowledge and know how to become effective games masters, Physical and Health education teachers, Health science teachers and Sports organizers.
iv. To enable the Physical and Health Education unit identify and recruit top rate athletes for further training for inter and intra University sports competitions as well as those who will represent Nigeria in National and International sports competitions.
